I'm working on something new

I'm making something for my boy. I'm already working on a blanket for him, but I like to mix up my projects. This pattern is mostly from the January issue of Crochet Today, but some things didn't work with the yarn, so I'm changing some elements. Also, the store didn't have enough of the creamy yarn, so I added stripes.

I mostly work on it when here's over, so I constantly ask him to try it on. I do not want to get to the end and fight out it's too loose/short/bulky.

This is my first piece of clothing for an adult, so I hope it works out!

green doily

My boy's family recently went to Pakistan and I asked for bamboo crochet needles and a Tunisian crochet needle (okay, and about 20 Bollywood movies). Bamboo needs are CRAZY expensive here in Germany. They kindly brought a set of 12 crochet needles and I now have enough to work on multiple projects with the same needle size (I keep the needle with the project to make sure I don't forget which one I'm using).

As a thank you for the needles, I made my boy's mother a doily. I rushed to get it finished before he actually brought the needles, so I didn't have time to properly block it or take good photos, but here is the finished product:
I watched 16 episodes of Doctor Who, 4 hours of BBC's Emma, Unstoppable and something else I can't remember while crocheting this doily over a two-days-and-a-few-hours period. But, I like the finished product so much I want to make one for myself!
